Cooking a boston butt pork roast tonight...?

It's about four pounds. I put it in on my lunch hour (about noon) at 200F. Does five hours sound like too much? Not enough?

It's tightly sealed with aluminum foil and I have about a half a beer in the roasting pan to keep it moist....

That should be just fine, as long as it has some liquid to keep moist.

I would cut it into two pieces. A pork roast that size will take 8 hours or more to cook. It is way too big. It is the size of a ham, and raw! Regards, Dan
