I'm in favor of anything that increases the freedom of private enterprise and reduces restrictions on free speech. So yes, this is a good thing as long as all donations are disclosed.

You don't honestly think the conservatives orchastrated this SCOTUS ruling do you?

That ruling came from a case of an anti-hillary movie.

the ruling could easily have come from an anti-bush movie, had anyone bothered to sue. The conservatives didn't sue. The libs did. The libs case went to the SC, and they lost. That loss opened the door to union and corporate funding of candidates.

if you are mad about the ruling....blame the left for bringing the case to trial in the first place.

had they accepted the fact that people have the free right of speech to make a negative movie about a public figure, this ruling never would have taken place. But they wanted to censor speech they didn't like (as usual) and now look where we ended up.

    Not just the unions.

The tobacco companies, the insurance companies, pretty much any corporation or influential group of people.

Expect more Lobbying scandals. Oh wait. They pretty much legalized it so now there won't be scandals. Gee-Golly. Thanks a lot, now we just gave more power to corporations. Might as well elect Tobacco/Insurance/Oil companies and the Unions to represent us since they make the decisions anyway.

I sure do hear a lot of Americans talking big about how they are going to stop this out of control nonsense, apparently none of them really meant it.

Doesn't make a difference to me, Unions have always made political contributions, some off the table, like a junket to the Bahamas or the Virgin Islands, or maybe a all expense paid vacation to Vegas to include gambling. That is something that concerns me more. PAC's have bought our congressmen, and that should concern us all.

They've been doing that for years anyway. The Unions already own the Democratic Party.

Well, they didn't rule that. They said they can purchase political advertising, not that they could make political contributions.

    Might wanna pay more attention.

I'm happy that the 1st amendment stood.

I am for free markets and free speech, even if I disagree with the speech.
