Vista to Windows 7 upgrade: Do I need administrator password?

My sister-in-law has forgotten her administrator's password on Windows Vista. I was going to reset her PC to factory this weekend. She also wants to upgrade to Windows 7.

Do I need to have a current Vista administrator password in order to run the Windows 7 upgrade? Or can I skip the "restore to factory" step, and just run the Windows 7 upgrade?

Nope you're pretty much screwed. The only way you are to get windows 7 is to do a clean install. Unless she suddenly remembers the password. Try rebooting and try a clean install. If you got the upgrade version of Windows 7 you will need to get the full install.

the priority is... you will not be able to; not jointly as in abode windows, with the aid of fact abode windows has SAM encrypted documents, and that they are relatively shield. you could desire to in spite of the shown fact that attempt removing the hardpersistent. and then attempt cracking the SAM encrypted documents by using Ophcrack or different application on yet another workstation.
