I have recurring diarrhea and vomiting. What could be wrong?

It comes on suddenly and the vomitting is violent. It last 2-5 days. Sometimes I have missed eating for a a number of hours. I had an episode of heat stroke last year. This has been going on for about 1 1/2 years. I miss work over this. I'm not losing weight except if it last a few days, then I lose a few pounds. I always gain them back. It happens about every 4-5 weeks. I haven't ate the same foods or anything.

Update:

I don't have headaches. How could it be migraines?

What this is sounding like to me is migraines. I get them where I get a headache first and then I always vomit for the next two or so days. This is nothing to be concerned about, just see your doctor and tell him/her, and she will say the same thing, and most likely prescribe a medication, that you will take at your first sign of these symptoms.

A common misconception on migrants is that they ONLY have to deal with headaches, but that is untrue. It can affect your digestive track as well. Also, even if you don't have sensitivity to light or sound, this can still be a liable cause.

Overall, best thing to do is just check with your doctor, but I do have medical school experience, from the information you have given me, it is migraines...
