How do I change the BIOS from SATA to IDE in a eMachine ET 1641?

I have an eMachine model # 1641 that was factory loaded with Windows Vista. I didn't like the program so I tried to install a clean Windows XP program. I completely deleted all the Vista files, loaded it with Windows XP. Well apparently that is not allowed without changing the BIOS from SATA to IDE. Can anybody tell me how to do this so I can use my computer??

You need to slipstream the SATA controller drivers into an installation disk.

You can't change the BIOS, SATA is the interface, as is IDE. The only way is to use a motherboard with the needed interface on it.

Your computer is the problem, it is not you
