iPod frozen on connect to iTunes due to failed jailbreak with Blackra1n. What do I do to fix this?

I was trying to jail break my iPod touch 2G (3.1.2) using Blackra1n and it seemed to be going well until Blackra1n warned me about something along the lines of "Blackra1n has not been confirmed to work with Windows XP" I didn't read the whole message but since I was a little anxious about whether it would work I clicked the stop button. Anyway it stopped Blackra1n but my iPod is now stuck on the connect to iTunes, oh no. I've tried soft resetting (just the hold button held down) and I've tried hard resetting (hold and and home buttons simultaneously held down) both haven't worked, also iTunes isn't recognising my iPod, my computer is just not recognising my ipod as a device. which means i'll have to figure out a way of fixing it outside of my computer... should i contact an apple technician or will they not help me fix it because i attempted to jail break it, what to do.

Why did it give you that message?

I have a 2G Touch, 3.1.2 and I have jailbroken it on XP.

Did you downlaod it from blackra1n.com?

any other site and it may have not been the real Blackra1n...

Is it Blackra1n RC3? Earlier versions had problems.

Have you connected it to iTunes? What did it say?

Re-running blackra1n can get you out of DFU Mode.

    1. Apple will NOT touch a jailbroken ipod as you have voided the warranty the only time they will do it is if its succesfully restored to official apple firmware bfore taking it in.

    2. Blackra1n is very buggy and is a tethered jailbreak, try running blackra1n again and click make it ra1n..

Best option is to remove the jailbreak by restoring the ipod on your computer but NOT connected to internet and make sure you have a full power

USB2 port as low power laptop ports can cause the restore to fail and kill the ipod. So... with itunes running reset your ipod (its the home and power key until screen goes blank with dark apple logo). then as soon as the screen lights up connect it to computer.

if this doesn't work on your computer get a friend with a Mac to try as sometimes restoring to mac HFS format is successful when trying Windows FAT format isn't - if this works then you will need to pair it back to your computer and restore it on yours for full compatibility as although macs can read windows format, windows cannot read mac format (to due with extended file attributes being in Macs but not FAT)

i do no longer decide to be impolite, yet ninety of each a hundred jailbroken Touches fail, it is why it is not recommendable to jailbreak your touch, sorry, yet opportunities are your iPod is now a $199 paper weight.
