-Download all the apps that I want into my itunes
-Restore the Ipod touch
-Reinstall all my stuff (Movies, games, music etc. + the downloaded apps?
I just want my ipod touch 3G to have some free apps without having a tethered Ipod...
(its version 3.1.2 btw.)

3rd gen has to be tethered!

mine is jailbroken! your ipod is trapped in a smallass cage until you jailbreak it! if something is going incorrect with it purely carry the domicile and means button down for 30 seconds and fix it with iTunes!
