If I buy a two year contract with Verizon, do I still pay a per month fee?

I'm new to cell phones, I don't believe it either, so here's my question: Verizon currently has a Palm Pre Plus for I think it was $129.00 for a two year contract. So if I pay for the contract am I still obligated to send them additional money per month?

The $129 is the cost of the PHONE with a 2 year contract. The Palm Pre service contracts start at $70/month plus fees and taxes and go up from there.

yes you are. The contract is to get the discounted pricing on the phone, you have to have service for 2 years with them.

You then pay monthly for your minutes and text messaging and whatnot. Also, I believe the palm needs a data plan. (internet access on the phone)
