pain along right jaw and lump under my chin near and my neck?

I went to the dentist the other day and they checked my teeth and took x-rays and stuff. the pain started a couple of weeks ago when my back wisdom teeth and a few other teeth became terribly sensitive and started to ache really bad.

Well I started brushing my teeth with baking soda and cleaning with mouth wash and most of the tooth pain went away, but then the right side jaw started developing and excruciating pain, all the way up to the right side of my forehead. I've been told that I have many cavities and wisdom teeth that need to be removed. There is also a lump under my neck. I have a link below of a guy with an arrow pointing to where I have the lump on my neck to show you (as a description).

All the dentist did was prescribe Vicodin which is not helping at all...Ibuprophen and Acetamenophine worked a lot better...I dont know maybe they gave me some bad Vicodin, but my jaw is throbbing with pain and I cannot sleep. I wonder if the dentist should've just given me and antibiotic instead, or maybe I should have went to the Physician instead of the dentist? Any advice, please? Thanks!

P.S. here is that link that shows where the pain is under my chin:

It could be an infected abscess ,with that you need antibiotics ,I would get them teeth fixed if there is cavities, because they can get really infected and eventually you will need root canals. So go to your dentist and if he cannot help go to your doctor.I would continue taking Ibuprophen that helps with swelling, vicodin is just for pain and does not work for all people.

I think it may be a swollen lymph node, are you sick or have an infection or open wound somewhere? Usually when you have an infection your lymph nodes or node will swell to fight the infection or wound. You have two lymph nodes on the underside of your neck under your jaw, if you feel the other side of your jaw opposite the lump you may feel another small lump exactly like it but not as swollen. If it is or isn'ta lymph node you should recieve medical attention as soon as you can. It could be a number of things, all lumps require some concern. There could also be something going on with your thyroid gland as well. Go to your doctor, until then you won't find out what it is.
