It depends on the religion or area that you're looking at the point of view at. Like it was mentioned in egypt they were protection against evil- actually even worshiped. If someone hurt a cat they were sentenced to death. Egyptians even have gods that have cat-like looks.

I dont believe any animal is "evil". Some mythology or religions might try to place the label on them, but it doesnt mean they are.

Some beliefs think that Black Cats are a symbol of evil while in others they think white cats are. The contridicting sides show that its a figment of peoples imagination and fear.

You might have just been around some ugly cats, lol. Some cats- with how they're faces or eyes are shaped. The life they lived. Or just things about them are what probably make you think they have a evil look.

I have cats that are actually rather adorable. They can glare, yes. But Humans can too but it doesnt make us evil just because of it. They get in ticked off moods too, same as any animal.

^-^ So try not to think any type of animal is evil because of a religion, beliefe, or superstitioun. It has led to alot of pointless animal cruelty.

    Why Cats Are Evil

The only naturally evil animals on Earth are humans. Unlike dogs, Cats are independent and do not have a pact mentality. They only express themselves to each other with minimal body language, mostly to ward off territorial intruders. For their physical size, they are quite strong, swift and capable of inflicting severe injury if cornered. People relate to dogs more because dogs seek to please the Alpha leader, which in their case is the human owner -- cats do not care to please anyone but themselves. Although cats do form close relationships with humans, you can never say you own a cat. Considering these few examples, humans have never really understood the cat, nor do most relate to feline personalities which remain a mystery, at best. Any evil a human perceives, is in their own minds -- not the cat

He doesn't look evil at all! He's very cute and just looks playful there. About the sleeping thing, my cats don't sleep like that, but maybe it's just because he's too big to sleep curled up on that little surface?

No, cats are not evil. They're just cats. They're just little predators (though granted, the only thing many domesticated cats ever "hunt" is the food bowl).

What you see as sinister features are simply utilities to help them hunt: big eyes to see better in dim light (also, cats seem to stare a lot because they have two sets of eye lids - the normal set and a transparent set - nictitating membranes); they have pointy ears that rotate to help localize the sounds made by prey; they have claws to help catch prey and they have sharp teeth because they're carnivores.

They're neither good nor evil, they're just animals.

i think it depends on the culture , and as one answerer said above, evil and good are subjective. For example , In mainstream Christianity, we do tend to see a lot of animal as evil. This is mostly because a lot of the animals that were sacred to Pagan religions were in competition with christianity. For example, cats were sacred in the ancient world, especialy in Egypt. So if you worshiped a cat, you worshipped the devil! Goats were sacred to the greek god pan, who was half goat half man. So if you worshipped a goat, then you worshipped the devil.

incidentaly, snakes were sacred to middle eastern religions, so it was no suprise that they became teh bad guy. In other cultures, snakes are a symbol of good and fertility. In Southern Asia, they are seen as killer of Mice and rats, which would have otherwise eaten their crops. In Aboriginal Australia, the Rainbow Serpent created the world.

Ironicaly , christianity has probably the best allegory about the appearance of evil. The devil is an angel, lucifer, the lord of light. In a way it is saying that something as beautiful as an angel can be the ultimate evil. evil is not in the appearance, but in the deeds and the heart.

i beleive, that animals are animals- neither good or bad. people just project their values on them to justify their own beleifs.

I think evil lurks in hearts of men, not in the looks of animals.

Cats are predators and look it. So do wolves and dogs. Is a wolf evil? Well, it seems that way to its pray. But in truth, it is just the way that God/nature made it. It is what it is. Wolves in packs can be quite loving to each other.

If any creatures are evil, it's people. We destroy things in a way that no animal ever has.

Evil is a point of view. That malicious cold look is not real, it's a fragment from too many horror movies portraying anything with slit pupils such as cats or snakes as things to be feared. Cats and snakes aren't evil and the boogie-man isn't real..
