a freshman in college or in high school? First off- lemme tell you something about boyfriends. The better YOU believe you are, the better THEY treat you. You don't JUST want a boyfriend. You want a guy that you are attracted to to be your best friend. Those can be a bit hard to find when you are so shy that he can't get to know who you are- so, go out, make PLENTY of friends- both male and female- and have fun! Get to know people. It's through others that you meet those guys and become 'friends' and then become 'boyfriends'. Realize that you've got a lot to offer someone- and really believe it in your soul, and he will find you. Be the super person that you are.

Don't give up, and don't change who you are for guys!

That is RIDICULOUS half of freshman aren't virgins... If you wanna open up to guys, just start off by smiling, and making conversation... Make yourself look friendly!

Plus you're only a freshman- my first real boyfriend wasnt til this year.. and I'm a junior- and shy myself :)

You'll end up having a boyfriend sooner or later. Just takes time.

No need to feel ashamed because you are different. When you find someone YOU really care about you'll know, and you'll just feel the need to be comfortable and its gonna feel really weird, but you're gonna like it, because it'll be like a natural high that you can stay on for a while :)

The guy-turned out to be an *** hole and were only together a week.

Freshman as in freshman grad student? Then I'd be worried. Otherwise, just relish in all the delight and happiness and flowers associated with adolescence.

dont listen to that! i have the same problem. just pretend theyre one of your best friends, and eventually, youll open up a little. i get nervous around every single boy, whether i like them or not. but it has improved lately. try it. just be yourself. (:
