I know many people who give the same middle name to all their children. It's not that big of a deal. It's a middle name so it's not like it's something they talk about every day.

A friend of mine has 3 sisters and all 4 girls have the same middle name, which is their mother's first name. Another friend of mine has two daughters and a son and both girls have the same middle name she does. I'd personally prefer to be a bit more creative but if that's what you like and that's how you'd like to honor your mother, go for it.

Marie, though, is a pretty versatile name - you could give your second daughter the middle name of Mary, Miri, Miriam, Maryanne, Marion, etc.

I have known families who have done this but usually b/c the middle name was the mom's maiden name like Rose or Campbell or Greer ...you Know a name that could be a last name(b/c it is) and a regular name BUT to name more than one daughter Marie is kind of a bit strange. Each child really deserves to have their own individual name. You could change the name a little like Maria, Mara, Mary, Margaret of find out what the name Marie is in another language but 2 girls with the same middle name is odd. Perhaps since you used your mom's name you should offer to use his mom's name for this one's middle name.

Well, I am a bit old-fashioned, but I think it's adorable. My father's middle name is Allen, and I have 2 older brothers with the same middle name. Some people will say, "They're two different people and deserve their own name" but they can be two different people too, the same middle name just shows their connections and family bonds. I personally think it's beautiful, and will always show forever that these two both have some part of their grandma with them.
