What do to when your boyfriend is SHY?

we have been together for almost a month now... I really do like him, it is always fun spending time with him. But the problem is that, he is shy! Shy in the sense that he would just keep quiet and i'm the one doing the talking. I at first used this theory that maybe if i speak and start opening up, he would also do the same. So, i'm still holding on that, and working with patience.

But at times i feel as though it wont work out that well..

Any other alternate suggestions you could give me?!
