Repost: Lillian Cate or Cate Olivia?
I'm reposting because I only got 4 answers the first time; If you answered my previous question, feel free to copy and paste your answer here.
Cate Olivia is a name that has always been on and off of my list for quite sometime, and I really love it. I think it just sounds so sweet and simple. Lillian Cate could easily be fixed with a different middle name.
So, the questions are:
1. Which do you prefer: Lillian Cate or Cate Olivia? Why?
2. Middle name suggestions for Lillian?
3. Middle name suggestions for Cate?
Middle name stipulations:
-Can't be: Grace, Viola/Violet, Katherine, Caroline, Soleil, Sophia, Rose, or Claire {Definitely nothing wrong with these names; I just have them used on my list already!}
-No alliteration
-I prefer original spellings, so nothing like Stella being spelled Steluh
-NO UNISEX NAMES!
Thank you!

This is a really difficult question, Hannah.
1. Lillian Cate -- 9/10
You know how much I love this combination. Lillian is beautiful, feminine and ages extremely well. Cate is just simple yet classic and beautiful which I love. Together it's a great combination. You are right in the regard that Lillian pairs well with many nicknames (almost any one-syllable middle name would work - Paige, Jade, Mae, Claire -- I know you don't like all of them but they all flow well).
Cate Olivia -- 10/10
I've never seen this combination before but I LOVE it. I especially love that you thought I looked like a "Cate Olivia". Cate is simple, refreshing and looks sophisticated in the first name slot. Olivia is popular but fits this name perfectly and as a middle name it just works wonderfully.
So I suppose it's difficult but I'd have to say Cate Olivia is my favourite above Lillian Cate.
2. Lillian Eve, Lillian Adrianna, Lillian Jade, Lillian Alexandra, Lillian Madeline (-line not -lynn...), Lillian Audrey, Lillian Ava, Lillian Adelaide, Lillian Bree or Lillian Ruby?
3. Cate Evangeline, Cate Elisabeth, Cate Ophelia, Cate Evelyn, Cate Adrianna, Cate Rosalie/Cate Rosalind, Cate Madeleine, Cate Estella, Cate Eleanor/Cate Eleanora, Cate Emily or Cate Joanna.
That was so hard :S I Hope you like a few of them!

Lillian Cate and Cate Olivia are both gorgeous names. I love Lillian Cate coz of the beautiful nickname Lily/Lilly and I love Cate Olivia because like you said, it is so sweet and simple. Both names flow extremely well and I am finding it hard to pick between the two. I have the combination Grace Olivia on my favourites list but then I also have Lily Kate so it is so hard to decide. I think that based on personal preference I am going to have to go with Cate Olivia.

a million. Cate Olivia is more advantageous constructive for my area. i have under no circumstances beloved the call Lillian, it merely doesn't have a lot of a female sense to it, and that i don't like the sound of it. Cate Olivia is female and flows nicely, and that i in my opinion particularly like the spelling Cate. 2. Lillian Phoebe Lillian Juliet Lillian Maria Lillian Jasmine Lillian Jade Lillian April Lillian Victoria Lillian Adelaide Lillian Rachel Lillian Alexa 3. Cate Ophelia Cate Aurora Cate Alexandra Cate Rebecca Cate Vanessa Cate Gabrielle Cate Emmaline Cate Alyssa Cate Valentina Cate Anastasia Cate Felicity

1) Cate Olivia hands down. I do not like the name Lillian at all. Lily I think is a cute, girly name but Lillian to be is old and some Russian woman in an old aged home. I think it loses all the adorableness Lily has..
same for Lilianna which I know is another alternative of this name.
2. Again, hate this name.
3. Cate Lauren
Cate Jayne
Cate Brooke
Cate Eden
Cate Ella
Cate Nicole
Cate Renee
Cate Hannah

I like Lillian Cate better than Cate Olivia because I think that you should not use a nickname as a full name. If her first name were to be Cate, it should be Catherine and then she just goes by Cate. However, since we don't use middle names as often, it's better to have Cate there than at the front. Catherine Olivia is very cute, but since you said you already have plans for Katherine with a K, perhaps it's not appropriate. You seem to tend toward simpler middle names, so maybe something like Elizabeth or Margaret (I also think Marjorie is pretty)? Julie would be nice too; I like Anne and Jeanne, but I prefer them for a first name. Other less-used flower names are Ivy and Iris, so you might consider one of those.

1) Cate Olivia - I agree with you that paired with Lillian, any number of middle names could work. On the other hand, Cate Olivia seems to be a perfect pairing, really complimenting and elevating each other. Olivia is very common as a first name, but with Cate it seems a bit more unusual.
2) Lillian Audra, Lillian Edith, Lillian Moira, Lillian Darcy, Lillian Theresa, Lillian Judith, Lillian Betsy, Lillian Jemima, Lillian Maeve, Lillian Prue
3) Cate Gwendolen, Cate Genevieve, Cate Gabrielle, Cate Vivienne, Cate Veronica, Cate Brenna, Cate Eliza, Cate Amelia, Cate Lucienne, Cate Regina, Cate Abigail, Cate Valeria

I think I prefer Cate as the first name actually.......the "Lily" names are becoming a little too common for me.
How about Cate Elise? I think both names are simple, classic, and beautiful! Cate Olivia is nice as well.
