only the k10 is 4wd, it will come with either auto front hubs or aftermarket manual front hubs. it is no problem to shift from 2wd to 4wd high or 4wd low range.
we have an 85k10 turbo diesel and love it (we've owned it for 14 years) over the years we have added lots of aftermarket up grades including limited slip/electric lockers f/r, rear disk brakes, and 6.5 diesel engine.
parts are very available and the truck is easy to work on.

C10 is 2wd.
K10 is 4wd. You can put it in 2HI, 4HI, or 4LO.
