Do you have Fibromyalga?
If so pay close attention to the sweet content of foods you eat. I had it and stopped eating anything with ASPARTAME and it is gone. If I eat any I feel bad again, even one thing. (My problem was eating sugar free fudge cycles. My Husband is diabetic and that was our reward. When I stopped I became 75 percent better (I do still have Rheumatoid arthritis). Now I read labels diligently. Crystal light is made with aspartame. Aspartame is made from ANT POISON, can you believe it??
I do well with Splenda as a sweetener.
It seems to give me no problems.
Congratulations on feeling better!

Yes, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia over 10 years ago. I was a Diet Pepsi addict (lots of aspartame), and when I stopped the Diet Pepsi my pain decreased dramatically. There are some healthcare practitioners who believe that aspartame can be linked to neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis.
You should also beware of monosodium glutamate, which I try to avoid. I read labels diligently also; often the fewer ingredients the product has, the healthier it is.
The only artificial sweetener I can tolerate is sorbitol (in small quantities, since it has a laxative effect). I use muscle testing http://www.goodhealthinfo.net/herbalists/muscle_te... if I'm not sure about whether a product might not be healthy for me. I have been using muscle-testing for over 30 years and recently took a class from a doctor who uses it also, so I could learn more and compare my experiences with those of others.
As a fellow fibromyalgia sufferer, I encourage you to use muscle-testing when choosing foods. Your body has an electromagnetic field, and things that are "bad" for you will disrupt that field. I use muscle-testing to choose detergents, perfumes, even makeup.
How to do simple, basic muscle testing with a partner:
1. Hold your arm straight out from the shoulder, horizontal to the floor.
2. Have your partner push down gently on the arm. You should be able to resist.
3. Close your eyes and have your partner push gently on the arm while bringing his finger close to your forehead. This should interrupt your field and your arm should go down. This will establish that you are "in balance."
4. Hold the item in question (food, drink, soap) to your chest with one arm. Hold the other arm straight out, horizontal to the floor. Have your partner push down gently on the arm. If the arm goes down easily, don't use this product.
Although it sounds hokey and bizarre, many doctors use this practice. Try it with something good for you, and then with something bad for you. And use it to avoid anything that might exacerbate your fibromyalgia. I do believe that anything that disrupts your "field" can make your fibromyalgia hurt.
