Vintage Diamondback Road bikes?

Exage was a gruppo that had both road and mountain bike lines in the late '80s or early '90s (I could not find anything definitive). Similarly, Light Action was late '80s, They were entry-level, so don't expect outstanding performance.

But as long as everything is in good condition, and the bike frames are the proper size for your body, it should work well for you. I, too, would try to talk the seller down a bit, though, unless they are absolutely pristine with new tires and brake pads.

For the novice rider - the most comfortable choice would be a hybrid. These are good bikes for shorter trips - under 10 to 15 miles. For the seasoned rider - a road bike would be the most comfortable. The way you're describing it...get a hybrid. Hybrids will work OK on light off-road trails of packed earth or finely crushed stone. Road bikes usually don't fair too well under these conditions. Either bike would naturally work well on city streets. Fair warning...if you ever test ride & find the right road bike that feels comfortable to you - you will NEVER want to ride anything else again. I'm hooked. Got a "touring road bike" with slightly wider tires that can go on light trails, i.e. Katy Trail in Missouri with no problems what-so-ever.

$100 each is probably ok as a price if they don;t need work

how many gears on the back?

is it cassette or freewheel?

be sure wheels are alloy not steet/chrome
