What does Virginia's new law mean for a National Health Care Bill?

Virginia Just passed a law that says, Virginian's cannot be mandated to purchase health care. I thught though a federal law would override a State law. But there must be something to it, if they went through the trouble pass it. ( someone told me it keeps our two democratic senators from Voting yes to any bill that contains language that would force Virginians to pay health Care) Otherwise if they voted yes to a Bill, they would be breaking Virginia's constitution. If that is true, VA successfully knocked off 2 Democrat Yes votes. The article says it makes it easier for VA to challenge a bill as unconstitutional, as it breaks our constitution.

Any thought on this? Any opinions, or facts on this, or what it does to Health Care reform?

Update:

Also 29 other states are working to do the same.

Update 2:

Our Govenor was able to pass this in 2 weeks compared a year of no success in congress. And Democrats are saying republicans wasted to much time passing this legislation, while they could have been working on jobs. Seem like a silly comment, considering it took them 2 weeks, to get a bipartisan bill.

I believe there are about 15 other states trying to pass the same bill. It is legal. People forget that the constitution protects individual states from federal law. Another example is the gay marriage issue.Thank God for the constitution even tho oabama said it was a flawed document

In this great nation, the federal government has very little power (Only that specifically granted it in the Constitution) Most powers belong to the States and to the people. See the 10th amendment.

But the sneaky federal government has ways to skirt the 10th amendment, For example remember the national speed limit was 55?... actually it wasn't

The Federal government threatened to withold all federal highway funds unless each state made their speed limit 55.

Same will apply to healthcare . After the congress awakens to the realization they do not have the power to require the purchase of health insurance, they will issue their ultimatum to the states. Require Health Insurance or else!

VA will be withheld federal dollars until they repeal this law.

So VA law trumps here, but they will either capitulate or forfeit funding.

Hopefully VA and other states, in enacting these laws, will simply get their message across to congress... we don't want your agenda.

God willing nothing and god willing, the reforms will pass.

Why does no other developed nation have the US model of healthcare? Because in the US model, insurance companies use death panels to deny care to those they are meant to cover. And then they raise costs [1]. Not only does the USA spend more on healthcare than any other nation [2], it finds itself bottom of the table when it comes to preventable deaths due to treatable conditions when it comes to developed nations [3]. The sad thing is that rather than focus on these things, the right spreads lies and half truths about the reforms and how healthcare works abroad [4]. But, if you think that my points are wrong, e-mail me with proof.
