If you are caught you will be prosecuted.
Target is very serious about loss-prevention. Also, law enforcement has gotten very tough on retail theft, so you can expect a much stiffer treatment than the five-fingered-discount of yesteryear.
In short - prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

i think if its over 15 or 20 bucks then its a misdemeanor. then they can call the cops. anything under that they will yell at you and kick you out and ban you from the store
