YA scammers, how do you get them removed or impede them from answering questions.?
Let me give you a case scenario. You have one guy coming to a certain category of Q&A. He starts putting weird answers out there just to have an answer. His answer its not even close to the topic of the question however he gets Best Answer as result of some other partners of him that votes for him. Suspecting he's got partners or he's got more than one account and his voting for himself 3to4 times in order to get best answer. Another scam he does, he gets the other guys (or he does it using his other accounts) to ask a question 3 to 6 times in the same category, he gives a quick irrelevant answer to the question and the next minute the guy gets his best answer awarded by the Asker. He managed to become "Top Contributor" in just a matter of a few days. The point is, the guy have no clue on how to properly respond to "Askers" questions, yet he gets to be "Top Contributor" and he manages to steal away real best answers from other contributors. I was under the impression we do the right thing by helping people in need with our knowledge. Isn't what Yahoo Answers is all about?
The question is: How do you get to remove or impede this guy from answering deliberately in a wrong fashion? I have reported all his answers as abusive. Some of his answers have been removed (or hidden) from that category but, the guy is still out there answering. He lately changed his Avatar and name of appearance.
Who do you have to address to in order to ban him or prevent him from further acting like this?
Please, be reasonable in your judgment. Appreciate your time taken to read and answer my question.

I agree with all that you have said. And there's pretty much nothing we can do about them except report abuse and give a 'thumbs down'. Problem is, when I read a question, if I know nothing about the subject and/or the subject matter just doesn't interest me, I move on. I don't even read any of the answers. So if there is a wise guy giving one of his 'schpiel' answers, I don't read it since I passed on the question. And truthfully, I don't care about the jerks that do it, after all, they're only kidding themselves. And if being labeled a 'top contributor' or 'super-duper top contributor' is what they need to get bye, it's no big deal anyway. Anybody who reads their inane answer knows they're idiots. Even people that know him/her understand that they're idiots once they open their mouths. So they use Y/A to build up their defective ego's. It's easy for them and they don't have to fear any retorts. I have the same goal as you, and it has nothing to do with points, scores or anything. It just has to do with a desire to share any knowledge I have with someone who might use it. But thanks for 'sounding off' and giving me the opportunity to do the same. Have a great new year.

Good question...and lots of good answers. My answer: It varies. I'll try to answer serious question. I don't get involved with "Who would win a fight in the shallow end of a swimming pool: A shark or a polar bear?" (That was a real question.) Or even most of the "Who would win: Bruce Lee or xxx?" If I do answer, it's usually to point out that Lee is dead and xxx wouldn't have a difficult time beating a rotted corpse. Generally, I don't do much research. I answer questions I know the answers to. I tend to do research when someone is asking a serious question about which gym or dojo looks best. I'll follow the links, look at the websites, and give an answer. As others have said, I'll usually only do research if it'll help me or my knowledge of something. Yes, I get very frustrated when someone picks an answer almost immediately...even when that answer is a really poor one. For that reason, here and on some other sites where I answer questions (Trulia, Zillow--I'm also into real estate), I begin with the newest questions and work my way back. It's not really to get a "Best Answer" award but rather to provide a solid answer initially. If other folks have better answers, great. But by the time a question has 6 or 8 or more answers (ironically, like this one), the odds of my input being considered drops substantially. I enjoy earning points. But--as regulars here probably notice--I frequently provide an answer but begin with "XXX provided a great answer. You should give him the 'Best Answer' award." And I also learn a lot here from reading the other answers. I'm strongest in the areas of BJJ, grappling, MMA, and wrestling. I'm weaker in--have more to learn about--traditional martial arts. So I enjoy the discussions on those topics. Here on Yahoo, I also am fairly active in "Words and Wordplay" and the various business, finance, and real estate areas. I apply pretty much the same critera there. But in those (especially "Words and Wordplay"), a lot of kids are asking homework questions. If they really don't understand something, I'll try to explain it. But I draw the line when someone posts half a dozen homework questions and simply wants someone else to do the work. Hope that helps.

What you do is this:
Report about 6 or so questions and answers by the multiple accounts.
Click the TOP button.
Type in the text box:
"Multiple Account Cheating"
Then LIST LINKS to all thea ccounts you know and/or suspect are linked.
Do this for a day or so.
Then, send the SAME LIST of links to the staff at y_answrs_team@yahoo.com (missing 'e' is deliberate) and let them know what is happening.
It takes time, dedication, diligence and multiple efforts to stop folks like this. But it CAN be done.

Pretty much all you can do is report him. Once enough people report the account, Yahoo will ban him, but the spammers are hard to stop because they simply create a new account and keep spamming.
