Guy drops dogs off on a busy road- your thoughts?-Ohio?
Some guy in the Delaware,Ohio dropped 2 beagle mixes off on a busy road and drives away before they could get back in the truck. My mom and I were behind this guy when he did this and we picked the dogs up.Where the guy drove away was St route 229 about 2 minuets away from US 23.We couldn't keep the dogs (we have 3 boxers) so we took them to a no-kill animal shelter in Wyandot, Ohio. So what are your thoughts on this.
We kept these dogs for 5 days trying to find the owner but we couldn't find him. I named the dogs Buddy & Pork Chop.If you live in Delaware,Ohio and your neighbor had a short & fat dog that looks like a beagle and a long skinny dog that looks like a basset hound and he no longer haves it please try to get in touch with the Wyandot County Humane Society http://www.wyhumane.org/
the reason im trying to find this guys is so we can get the animal abuse charges against him as for why my mom and i didnt get the guys plate # is because the dogs decided they were going to sit in the middle of the road-i dont want him to get these dogs back

So nice of you and your Mother to take the time to help these dogs. I don't know of anyone that would forget their animals after making a stop. He probably abandoned them there. To bad you didn't get his license plate number. There is kinder ways of getting rid of your dogs. He could of done the same as you, bring them to a shelter. So may people get animals and then decide they are to much trouble. They never think about the hardship it makes on an animal when they drop them off. No food or water. They are out in the cold. My heart breaks for all the animals that are treated that way. What if we did that to the people that did it to animals? I bet they would have a change of heart.

It happens quite a bit in Kentucky where I live. People will just drop them off on a mountain where no one lives and drive away. We also get quite a few dogs in our shelter that were picked up off the side of a road. You did the right thing but I agree with the other posters the owner obviously didn't want them so they are better off where they are.

well at least u guys picked the dogs up and took them to a no-kill shelter so they wouldnt get hit. but i think that u shouldve got the make n model and plates of the truck n called the cops to let them know what happened. people are just sick. if u cant take care of an animal y get them. that is just sad.

That is just horrible. How can someone do that to an innocent creature who's only fault was loving them!? :(
Those dogs are very lucky you and your mom were there to save them. If you weren't, the would more than likely been hit by cars :(
You're good people.

Leave them in the shelter - they were DUMPED. Wake up and smell the coffee why would you want them back with this guy?
Good on you for stopping and getting them though - that was really caring and the time and effort you put itn keeping them and taking them to shelter ..good on ya - wishmore people were like that - but stop asking around for this guy - hes an idiot. Shame you didnt get a registration i would have reported him.

Obviously the dogs were dumped. Too bad you didn't get the guy's license plate, he could have been charged with cruelty and animal abandonment.
What an Asshat!

Unfortunately it is not out of the ordinary for people to do this...and because witnesses are more worried about the dogs they don't think about getting the license plate until the people are gone

that's unbelievingly cruel of that person. Report it if you can. Bless you for picking the animals up. If only there were more logical, kind people in the world *sigh*.
