Oh gee...This is a tough one to say..I know a vet is expensive but, it is the best way ..

    I would only be guessing

You may want to consider taken the healthy one out of the cage for awhile

Its age??..maybe it is time for it to go to rainbow bridge try this until you can take him to a vet

I would keep it warm..not hot..darken the room..place a towel over half the cage.

make sure it has clean fresh water always and clean food.

watch him closely..and watch the other one too..

I hope the little guy makes it

    good luck

The first sign that a bird of any kind is sick is that they keep their eyes closed a lot. Since it has only been 3 days there may be a good chance to save the bird if your friend can get it to an avian vet. They specialize in birds. I had a parakeet that ended up dieing. The problem with the bird I had was that I think it was caused by an air freshener that was close to the cage, now I have 2 parakeets but I have no air fresheners and I am taking all the precautions to keep them healthy. They even get to fly around during the day for exercises and that keeps them healthy. The other bird may seem fine now but it may be like the sick one real soon. Getting them both to the vet would be the best thing to do at this time. Good Luck and hope they get better!

the same thing happend to my peach face lovie. he has a black masked mate. he got sick a while back. he was sleeping on the floor alot and not eating. so i put him in my room in his own cage. with a little house with wood shavings filled in the tent and on the bottom of the cage up passed the grate . i kept it very warm and light in my room (but not hot. wen u r comfortable with out a jacket). i put his food in a couple differnt places. on the wall ,some in his tent, and some on the floor. and i would actually have to put him in his house at night cause he didnt want to move. after a couple days he was acting like his self again.. hope this helps
