What is the maximum amount of virtual drives you can have on a PC? And no I don't think it is 31?
I have around 60+ disks as images that I need to be able to have mounted at startup of the OS. I would like to find a solution compatible with Win XP. I know that most virtual drive software limits the amount of virtual drives to 31 or less. I really don't think this is the actual limit of virtual drives you can put on a computer. I think the problem is that naming the drives is maxed out at the number of letters in the alphabet. The only solution I have currently is networking virtual machines and networking the drives. This workaround seems like a waste of resources. Thanks for any help.
I am setting up a computer for my 4 year old niece. I have 60+ games that ll require the CD/DVD to be in the drive in order to be played. But if I just make images then they can all be mounted, shortcuts can be created and she can simply click on an icon to play the games.

I don't know the answer... but very curious as to WHY you would ever want to do such a thing?? WHY??
