Does anybody have any decent reasons why we SHOULD cut down the rain forest?

Well - it does feed your Billionaire friends. How else are they going to afford the champagne they need to survive??? They need republican tax cuts - they need bailouts - they need government handouts - they need government grants - they need free money - AND they need to trash all of the natural resources (like the rain forest) to keep feeding them those cool Billions.

TeaBaggers know that Billionaires aren't like you and me - they're just better people - and they deserve all of the money and natural resources. So cut down that rain forest otherwise a Billionaire won't be able to afford his next Mercedes! And you don't want to be responsible for THAT!

If such "anybodies" are people who want to make money on the huge timber piles of Amazon forests, they will always show decent reasons. But when the science and technology intellectuals of earth are shivering with fear about likely destruction of earth's environment (and resultant wiping out of human race itself) within next two centuries what is the meaning of decent answers for that most dangerous question?
