Do you have to restore your iphone before you use redsn0w?
I want to jailbreak my iphone 3g on 3.1.3 firmware with redsn0w 0.9.2.
do I have to restore to use this? I hope not because i have 150 apps.

Technically no. But there's always a chance you could download the wrong software, or mess up some where, and loose everything. So its your call, I highly recommend it.
