Help me fix my cello bow!?

I very stupidly tried to use partially dried soap and than some light maple syrup to substitue for rosin and now my bow wont make but the faintest of sounds on the strings of my cello. yes this was stupid i know, but i was snowed in and couldnt go out and buy more rosin. What can i do to get the sound back?

    This is bad.

The best thing to do is to get the bow rehaired, that usually costs about $40.

Until then you do need to get the maple syrup off.

You can use wood or ethyl alcohol and a slightly damp cloth, be very careful not to get any on the stick or the frog. Cleaning bow hair with alcohol isn't great, but I don't think it will do any more damage than has already been done.

cleaning will also take off what little rosin remains, so as far as sound, you're stuck for now.
