Dreams about being paralyzed in dream, and random disturbing scenes?
My husband has been having these strange dreams lately. He had one last night that i actually witnessed. We had fallen asleep and maybe 30 minutes later, he had woken me up but by locking up and struggling to breathe. I asked him what he was doing and he did not respond just kept struggling to breathe. His arms were curled up next to his face and he was not seizing but rocking back and forth. I was able to wake him and he was looking around the room almost fos someone or something who was holding him down. he quickly started rattling off what had happened in his dream.
He said he was swimming in a river and started climing up the rock wall and then it turned into a waterfall on top of him. Then he came accross a phone box, like one on the street and heard a voice on the phone telling him to do things he cannot remember . He says thats when he felt like he could not move, but he did not fall off the rock wall or anything just froze up. It was quite evident he was struggling with breathing and moving but he said he did not feel like he was awake, yet he said his dream felt very real. This is the third or fourth he has had and everytime he says it feels like someone is holding him down.
He continues to look around the room for someone he feels was holding him down. I dont feel like he has sleep paralysis because it seems like only certain dreams bring on the paralysis and he does not feel awake.
He rarely remembers his dream in general and i am a strong believer in dreams displaying a message, as i have very vivid strange dreams as well. I have never seen him get really worked up like this. If anyone can shed some light on what may be casuing this it would be greatly appreciated!

This is sleep paralysis, or commonly called night terrors. I used to have them, too, and discovered it was brought on by being too hot in the night. It used to be a regular occurrence that went on for years, and I finally figured out it was because I had too many blankets. I would bundle up fall asleep, but once asleep, I would end up too warm, and the sleep paralysis would happen. Once I figured it out, I would make sure I was just a little cool when I went to sleep, not cold, just not toasty warm, and the night terrors stopped. Most people think they wake up sweating from the fear that the dream caused, but the dream is actually caused by the heat! I hope it this helps!
PS- Be sure to shake him awake anytime he seems to be going into this state, because believe me, it is horrible :)

Try the following - 1. Eat light liquid food while going to bed. 2. Eat before sun set. 3. Drink lot of water. 4. Do some exercise. 5. Sleep early at around 9:00PM 6. Drink lot of water. 7. Before going to sleep, think what has happened today. If anything is left incomplete, resolve mentally that that it will be resolved tomorrow. Mind tries to give you resolution of incomplete transactions. 8. Avoid watching TV and reading newspaper in the evening. 9. Meditate. 10.While sleeping keep you head towards East or North.

re=occurance, my woman has dreams about somoene she doesnt know chasing her through a place she knows, but nothing is where its suppose to be. In life she makes these lists, scattered about everywhere, which only make sense to her. Sometimes I find one I can read, and good to see her follow through her day...because you seen the list.
Sounds like your husband might take his work to seriously, or maybe his hobbies. Because of the swimming upstream...(most likely) and having the river come down on him again while he was climbing. Depends on how he veiws rock climbing I guess...is it a hobby or a means of getting to the next location? The security of a payphone...did it have a door or attached to something? All these things are important. But how we wake from a dream is very important...I will explain a dream I had just quickly. I woke up and my tounge was sticking out and I felt like something had been taken from it. I dreamt I was having oral sex with some woman I didnt know, she was talking real dirty to me and I had these two weird looking things in my hand. But they went together, one was smaller than the other, but they fit together like a ying yang. It was oddly shaped but I appeared to be using it properly. And thats when I woke up. Now Sex usually doesnt mean what you think it means. Our brains choose images it comes across while witnessing things that happen in out everyday lives. makes sense right? I only see, its my subconcious that watches. What my dream was trying to tell me is that I wasnt talking in my relationship enough for her. Along the way somewhere I just stopped talking because I felt that she wouldnt understand or had no intrest in what I was doing at the time. Now...
Looking for a person you think is there but isnt is a wake up call an a half. The only other person in the room was you but he knew it couldnt have been you...im just saying lol. So what may be causing this is your husband's fighting spirit. His never say die attitude when it comes to things he knows how to do. ( do the things you cant remember ) Dreams are great arent they? One of the scientific discovery's recently through brain scanning was "is God in our heads?" having activity shown in certain parts of the brain when people think of god and religious stuff. One of the things God tells Israel is when a prophet of the lord is among you I speak to them in Visions and in dreams, but this isnt true of my servant Moses. With him I speak face to face clearly and not in riddles. They also have done studies on the power of prayer, where people were prayed for and studies show its a legitamite phenomena as well. It may just be a collective conciousness thing through and the power of the human mind. The real benefit of dreams are between here and there however. We hit a place in between where you gain control and can actually leave your body and interact with others who have mastered this. Yogi's, Mahatma's (teachers) I love dreams and cant wait to fall asleep some days. I hate people who arent truthful with what they seen in a dream because they tell you everything but the one thing they are ashamed of...and continue doing it in life with no moral restraint. All dreams dont carry meaning through, like just before your falling asleep and you hear a bunch of words stringed together that make no sense. Anyways...I think your husband should try something new and something hes always wanted to but has been too busy with the everyday. Dreams are difficult unless you know the person, most dream books arent worth the paper their printed on. Its very personal and requires the truth of staring oneself down in the mirror untill whoever's holding you back loses. Maybe he has in mind that thing hes already wanted to do but keeps forgetting about it, blowing it off saying "no thats not for me" anyways anyways...anyways: )~
