SOAPS - Why are ppl so bothered by rapid aging?

I personally don't want to watch a soap baby grow for 16 years to get a decent story line out of them ! I have been watching my own soaps since the 1970's and don't want to wait over 30 more years for a baby just born to have kids ! I started watching with my grand mom in the 1950's and before listening on the radio . I will not live long enough for slow or normal aging !

I agree if we sat there that long we would have cobwebs growing on us....it is funny though when I started watching Brooke from B&B she was young and doing her catering job....since then she ended up doing...well you know what I am saying....now look at her daughter Hope 16? time does sure fly.

there are quite some aspects, one is newborn demanding artwork guidelines, newborn actors can in basic terms artwork the variety of large number of hours, must have preparation on the studio and are not consistently trouble-free to take care of. little ones are used earlier they are previous adequate to communicate, little ones are very demanding as an example lines so that they not often are in any coach (An commemorated custom going again to "i respect Lucy" even as Little Ricky went from an toddler to about 5 in one day). college age young children are used in Primetime shows the position they are the celebs or have a significant function in comedies; yet not used a lot on Soaps. observe no cleansing soap opera domicile ever has toys everywhere in the floor, the youngsters are consistently "upstairs" or at a buddy's domicile. And maximum conversations on soaps between grownup characters, regarding infidelity, homicide, mentally ill human beings posing as some different person (Patty/Emily on Y&R), and toddler snatching at the prompt are not belongings you would desire youthful young children to take heed to besides. yet young children have a touch more beneficial room for tale lines. And Abby is by surprise not 14 or 15 or inspite of yet curiously a tender grownup. If she replaced into meant to be 14 she ought to not be doing the flaws she is. i do not study particular actors on there, yet oftentimes primetime shows with 'young children', have actors 24 or so playing the jobs.

I don't mind them aging a baby into a little kid, but after that it would be nice to be able to watch some of them grow up naturally (if they keep the same actor). On the ABC soaps only Starr (OLTL) and Robin (GH) are left. I love to watch the old clips of them as cute little girls. There's a continuity and history that none of the other characters have anymore and I really miss it.

I think Soarsing is good but sometimes they go too far like making them too old like on Days of our lives they made EJ be 30 years old and he is only supposed to be 10, it just doesn't make sense and it contradicts the fact that he was raised by Marlena and John as a baby but that wouldn't make sense now since he had a relationship with Sami who is Marlena's daughter and during the time EJ was born she was already a grown up and they should at least keep the soarsing consistent and because there are some characters that were soarsed and others that were not on Days of our lives and it doesn't make sense because the soarsed ones are much older than some that were actually born way before them and they usually don't soars characters that haven't been on screen for like 18 years like Stephanie Johnson who wasn't really soarsed and was born like in 1990 but she dated Philip and he was born in 1995 but somehow he is 10 years older than her. I also think its dumb when they age somebody to the point that they are only 7 years appart from their parents like David Banning on Days of our lives was only 7 years yonger than his mom Julie but i don't think they really do that now.

I agree. Thing is though, I'm sure some people might prefer for example Abby to still be the sweet lovable child she was than the teenage brat that she is now.

Well they didn't really rapid aging Noah Newman....

He was born in 1997.... he suppose to be 13...

but they make him 15 now.

So they really don't need to rapid aging anybody.

I agree but sometimes the fast aging is just ridiculous! But I guess that's a soap opera for you.

Your actually right we all complain that whoops all of a sudden their all grown up, but they need new story lines and you get better ones when their either teenagers or adults!

I agree! Without SORAS-izing EJ from DOOL would still be a child! We would have miseed out on such a rich, evil, smoking hot character!
