I have a 2004 Nissan Xterra v6 with a tow package 60,000 miles. 1 yr before payoff. Trade it in or keep it?

My payments are at $300 a month. I am not a mechanic, but give it its proper maintenance. Thanks!

If you are happy with the car, I would keep it. If there is something you don't like about it, it might be time to trade it in.

Personally, I would keep it until it's paid off. At that point, just start setting aside money for repairs and maybe trade it in just before 100k. Usually around 100k things start to need replacing like alternators, starters, suspension components, etc. I think the timing belt interval for that is either 100k or 60k, too. That's kind of a big one.

You might as well keep it. You have been paying on it for 6 years and have 1 year left. Or you can trade it which would roll that money you owe into a new loan for something else. I'm guessing that's how you ended up with a $300/mo payments for 7 years in the 1st place.

keep it.. it'll do wonders for your credit rating if you pay a car off.. and then it's paid off no more payments.. if you want a new car take another loan out and start there while keeping this after it's paid off..

keep it, 60000 miles on a nissan is nothing if it is taken care of.
