What state do you live in? What has the weather been like? And has it been different than other years?

Just a little curious. Here in WA State it hasn't been raining like other years. Not complaining just wondering if it's different in other states as well.

Here in UK we have had some unusually cold weather. However, recently it has turned quite mild, more or less normal for this time of year in London. But another cold snap is on the way. Thus by Wednesday next it is going to be quite cold once more. Nevertheless, the day time temps will still be reasonable, at about 4 to 5C average daytime - dropping down again at night.

Although this winter has been cold with a lot of unusual snow, it has not been anything like as bad as at least two previous winters of my life. The coldest winter on record was the winter of 1947 when I was about 5.5 years old.

Of course, here in UK a harsh winter can lead to problems, because most of our food remains in the ground in the fields. Thus, if we get about a foot or so of snow, this makes it difficult to near impossible for our farmers to bring in root vegetables and cabbages which are still out there waiting to be harvested through the winter months.

The next hard winter was back in 1963 when I was 22.

In the above you can see a young man actually riding his bicycle on the frozen river Thames at Windsor.

If you ever come to London, please make sure you are here for the Queen's Birthday Parade, every year in June.

    Hi,

In the UK we have just had a cold spell that lasted around 2 weeks with ice and snow, nothing out of the ordinary but as is normal in the UK, a little bad weather and everything seems to grind to a halt as no one seems to know how to drive a car in snow (2") and ice. I live in a rural place in Shropshire, we have not lost electricity, gas or water during the cold so I think we are fortunate.

Central Texas. It's been consistently cooler than normal but without any record-breaking cold. Very typical El Nino winter, unlike places to the east where it's been freaky snow-cold-weird.

Meanwhile in Vancouver, BC, they're having the warmest winter in recorded history, perfect timing for the WINTER Olympics. *sigh* The weather thinks it's so clever, playing these tricks on us. Tsk tsk...

    I'm in New England

It's relatively cold (average of about 22*)

There's hardly any snow on the ground

    It sucks

Most years, it's alot colder with a lot more snow...my school has only had two snowdays so far! This is NOT how winter should be, in my opinion.

I live in Maine and it is as cold as ever, but the winters seem to be getting shorter every year. It's odd.
