Will fingerprints be on a shell casing after it has been shot?

When you load a pistol magazine, pushing the bullet and case into the magazine, after shooting the bullet, will your fingerprints be on the case or burnt off?

    All the detective storys on tele suggest that they are still on the bullet case.....
