Which of these words is a synonym for "then"?
A bit embarrassing that I need to ask for help with my 9 year old son's homework, but I am stumped. He has to pick a synonym for "then" out of this list of words:
most
coat
ago
hold
hello
cocoa
open
loaf
over
comb
toast
almost
boat
both
road
gold
Thanks :)

I think "ago" is the most correct.
As in: 'That is how it was back then.' Same kind of meaning as to what someone else said.
I don't think it would be "over" as i think that refers to "than."
e.g. 'I want chocolate rather than vanilla.'
Hope that helps

Dear Pinkle,
I choose 'ago', as in - describing a period long ago - and referring to it as 'then'.
Hope this helps!
