How do I add flavor to air-popped popcorn?
Calories arent an issue, but to add melted butter makes it soggy. How can I make it like kettle corn, with out having to pop it over the stove and deal with that mess. Please answer will any suggestions or ideas - otherwise I will have to just have store bought or flavorless popcorn at the party (and thats no fun)

While the popcorn is hot, try adding some spices to it! I like garlic powder or a butter salt that you could buy at any grocery store. You can also make a mixture of sugar, cinnamon, or anything sweet along those lines that will give it a nice flavor also.

The trick with melted butter is that you need to sprinkle it. Put just a little on, toss the popcorn around in the bowl, then a little more, toss, and so on. Alternatively, you could get some powdered buttery flavored stuff, like Molly McButter. Or you could go for something different entirely, like garlic powder and Parmesan cheese, or nutrient yeast, or salt and chili powder.

My mom is addicted to air popped popcorn and what she does to salt her popcorn is sprinkle with salt BEFORE you pop it..She uses the oil and seeds and then salt with that, pops it, and then sprinkles a tiny more salt on it. I don't know about other seasonings though...good luck!

if you pick up a refillable spray can(the kind you can put your own oil in for cooking spray) you could heat up a caramel flavored topping and spray it on. or you can get microwavable kettle corn-i've found that to be very yummy.
