My friend's ACER 5536 crashed after 4 months, what should I do?

MY friend bought a ACER 5536 from PC world 4 months ago, and it has crashed now,(the operating system would not be detected) the laptop refuses to read the recovery CD. It has a lot of important files too. The PC World asked for 100 pounds to recover the data. As a student he really cannot afford to be spending so much money for problems that was not his own. Does anyone else's ACER 5536 has crashed? What should he do?

If the data is important, DO NOT allow PC World anywhere near it!!!

He has a difficult decision. His laptop is new enough to still be under warranty and so Acer would repair free of charge, but they will not recover his data.

An independent computer repair place will try to recover his data for less than PC World, I'm sure, and probably do a better job, but then he will likely invalidate his warranty (unless the repair person is Acer authorised/approved.)

The best scenario is probably for him to do it himself. He must be very careful to not make it look like the hard drive bay has been opened (see: http://tim.id.au/laptops/acer/aspire%205738g%20573... for how to access and remove the hard drive) and then put the hard drive into an external USB 2.5" hard drive enclosure (needs to be SATA - you can get them for around 15 quid) and he can then see if any of his data is readable using one of the many data recovery programs that are shareware or time limited free trial.

(Note: I do not recommend doing this at home if the data is truly critical, as the more attempts you make to read a failing drive, the more data can be lost, but that's only really relevant if you can actually afford to send it away to a specialist data recovery company, who do charge a LOT!)

Then he can still get his new hard drive via an Acer warranty repair.

the project with cow's milk is the lactic acid in it, and processed milk would not have not often any in it. that's why gerber yogurt melts are ok for little ones, besides as formulation it truly is extremely a lot consistently made from cow's milk. the toddler will be advantageous, barring any hypersensitive reactions.
