Last minute nerves and cold feet!?
I'm getting to the absolute final stages of purchasing my new horse. When I was first contacted, they put forward both of the following horses in writing. I was sent photos of Mulligrub (LOL gets called grub) on his first day back in work, he is reasonably educated and I like him very much.
I have now seen these photo's of the second horse and I don't like her as much. Sweetheart has no education, so she would be a project ;-) She looks like a donkey in one photo and then looks like she could have potential in the second? My gut is telling me no! lol
They are similar age and height and the mare is $600 cheaper (don't care lol). I am buying from a friend who is a grand prix dressage rider, judge and certified instructor. I have a comprehensive and full return guarantee on the horse after 30 days, as he is over 10 hours away from me.
It has been a long road searching. It all just seems to good to be true when you find something that ticks every box on the wish list!?!?
I just want to check opinions of her as I don't think she matches up to the gelding, but I think I am a bit one eyed!! LOL
Two photos of - Sweetheart the mare
Three photos of - Mulligrub the gelding

Thanks in advance.
EDIT - It was a very comprehensive wish list and he is even OK with kangaroos! (As we have them on our property!) LOL
Thanks your kind words are appreciated!
EDIT - Yes, lucky IS the word. Don't think red dust in the middle of nowhere. Imagine beautiful gum trees and 4000 acres of cropping and cattle country. Although mainly flat, there is a creek and bush, great for x country. We grow all our own wheat and hay so lots of open country to ride.
The only problem with roo's, is that many horses are freaked by them. LOL

I definitely like Mulligrub, but I would pass on Sweetheart... I don't care for her too much.
Go for it... since you have a 30 day guarantee, what do you have to loose?? You know you want this! :-]
Edit-----
Kangaroos??? You are so lucky !!! That's cool!

Thank you for including us in the thrill purchasing of new horse!
MULLIGRUBS RULES!
Sweetheart has less eye appeal and doesn't pick her back up as well. Unless you plan on breeding the choice is obvious.

Saw your thumbs down for your compliment, LMAO!
It wasn't me, I just do not understand some on this site. I had to learn this stuff the hard way, talking to old folks, paying for lessons, and trial/error. Yet here it is given for free and all you have to do is sit on your butt and push a few keys. No wonder I get along better with horses than people!

Ziggy, More folks should take heed of your answers and questions on finding the right horse! My hat is off to you and my compliments to you for your research and wisdom! As I am not an English expert... so I can only go by what I see and what you have told me.. But conformation wise and training the Grubster has it hands down.. Good luck with your new pony!

i would go with your gut in the end. they are both very lovely horses and you are very lucky to be able to get one :) relax your gut is telling you to listen. what was the first thing that came to your mind when you first saw the pictures. take a good long time listing the pros and cons about each horse....don't worry...take a deep breath...relax....good luck :)

If he seems like the one he seems like the one. I think she is good looking :) But I can tell that you have taken a liking to him and there is nothing you can do:) I think you would hurt your self more by getting her and wishing you had him then you would if you got him and not her. If that makes sense :)They both look good so I think it is really up to your gut. If you just feel like your pulling towards him, Get him :) I think you would be hurt if you did not get him. He is the one

I personally think that grub is cuter and is more broke. He looks like if you wanted 2 show, grub would be better. I thnk the better choice would be grub.
