What style of cocktail dress suits an athletic figure with broadish shoulders?
Off-the-shoulder styles tend to make my girl look a bit butch, but she's actually skinny. Links to pictures would be great.

Athletic body types are perhaps the least common. These body types are slim without diet and exercise, and often lack curves. Dressing an athletic body type should focus on creating the illusion of curves, while showcasing a lean body.
Wear dresses with prints or intricate details. These draw attention to the upper body. Since athletic body types generally have well toned and slim bodies, drawing attention to certain aspects without going overboard with prints, can distract from the lack of body shape
Avoid vertical stripes and patterns. This hides curves, showing off slenderness, which is already there. Any other patterns or prints work well in moderation.
Opt for clothing that fits snug. Tight clothing shows off a slender shape, which is the greatest asset of an athletic body type.
Select dresses such as empire waist and halter to flatter this body type. These will accentuate a smaller chest. It adds the illusion of curves to the straight figure associated with the athletic body type.
I would suggest either a figure hugging/body con boob tube dress, or a figure hugging/body con halter neck.
Here are some links with dresses that would suit an athletic body type:

These would all work well. Or anything with this neckline.
