preventing an open face slider cell phone from turning on in pants pocket?

i went out an got a new phone today (it's that new samsung walmart-exclusive tracfone w/ like 1000 minutes) and a problem i've had in the past w/ open face/slider phones is them turning on in class (making a beep, or that "please say a command" thing). it's gotten me busted before when i had a Pantech Duo, so i switched to that "RAZR" from tracfone. i just want a simple solution that doesn't interfere w/ answering a call (so cases are pretty much out).

i usually keep it in my right pocket if it matters.

The best way to prevent your phone from making noise, turning on, or opening is leaving it in a safe spot like your backpack where its still reachable, and yet less prone to move around a lot. Its even a good spot to make quick text messages :-)
