My 2nd question is: Where do I find a LARGE cat carrier than I can handle to transport my cat who's 25 lb?
It's bad enough I can't even carry HIM! ;D....my daughter used to help me and we'd put him into one of those fold up kennels for medium size dogs. We'd each take an end and cart the Big Gallute to the vet for his check-ups, but now she's expecting a baby (the daughter, not the cat) and I'll need to do it alone ...ugh. I tried putting a med size dog harness on him, but he won't walk with one on--just lies there. I may need something with wheels on it--and not too costly. He's tall and long and "girthy"--much larger than any small dog. Help!
Vet says he's healthy..he's just a large Maine Coon....(and he said "I'm not fat...I'm just fluffy":D
He's bigger than my son's dog who's a Rat Terrier/Beagle mix..but smaller than his Lab..lol

Petsmart and Petco have various carriers - you can pick up a large veri-kennel type of carrier there. I would suggest you also get a small wheeled cart where you could set the carrier on that and strap it in and then wheel the cat where you need.
We use one for showing (carrier, litter pan, show bag) - all of the things are stacked up and carried from the car to the show hall. Its a lot better on your back.

Just go to any pet store, and look in the area with the dog supplies. They have carriers and dog crates there that will work nicely, as they are bigger than the ones sold in the cat section. Petmate makes an intermediate sized one that might work well for you.

If you already have a kennel that is a good size for him then get a kennel cart (wheeled cart) to transport him then you will only have to lift in and out of the car.

Oh my goodness!!
Try googling "kennels with wheels" or "large kennels with wheels". For the time being, I would just hold the cat in my arms (if she is not too fuzzy about it). Otherwise, pay a teenager neighbor of yours to carry her. It's definitely cheaper than buying a kennel.

I use a medium sized dog carrier for our big guy. It's 2' long, 18" tall and 18" wide.

When we are at the vet’s she is very clingy and once they turn her loose she latches onto us and won’t let go until we are home. For a while she stays clingy after we get home but then she remembers that it was us who took her to that place and she ignores us for a day or two. She acts the same way when we go somewhere for a couple of days. When we first get home she leaps on the back of the loveseat by the door to greet us and is very affectionate but then she remembers that she is mad at us and stalks off and sulks. I usually have to pick her up and snuggle her a bit before she will get over it

You would probably want a top opening pet carrier, and they should come in many different sizes, including one that would work for you.

ebay.
they have many great deals on used cat carriers.
i cant think of a brand off hand, but you should be able to find a dog carrier with wheels.
here is one. use it like a hand truck. you may need a board to use as a ramp to get him in and out of the car.
