Peanut Butter Frosting - Anyone have a great recipe?

My friend has asked for a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting for her birthday cake tomorrow night. I've got a great recipe for the cake (Everyday cocoa cake from Epicurious.com that I've made numerous times over the years). But I've never even had peanut butter frosting so don't really know how to evaluate the recipes online. Some have 1/3 cup peanut butter to 4 cups powdered sugar while others have 1 cup peanut butter to 2 cups powdered sugar.

Can someone that's made peanut butter frosting offer a really good recipe? It's likely my friend's last birthday since she has Stage 4 cancer.

I made this recipe a few months ago, for my sister's birthday.

The chocolate cake was just an average chocolate cake, so I'm sure there's no problem with you using a different recipe.

The peanut butter frosting? A whole 'nother story.

It's peanut butter cream cheese frosting, which might sound disgusting, but is INSANELY delicious!

    Please, please use this recipe!

    Peanut Butter Frosting

    Makes about 5 cups

10 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature

1 stick (4 ounces) unsalted butter, at room temperature

    5 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted

2/3 cup smooth peanut butter, preferably a commercial brand (because oil doesn’t separate out)

    1. In a large bowl with an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese and butter until light and fluffy. Gradually add the confectioners’ sugar 1 cup at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition and scraping down the sides of the bowl often. Continue to beat on medium speed until light and fluffy, 3 to 4 minutes.

    2. Add the peanut butter and beat until thoroughly blended.

Happy birthday to your friend, and God bless her.

you are in luck cuz i love peanut butter and use it as my #1 frosting. and it is sooo easy too

    1 pkg. cream cheese

    1/3 c. peanutbutter

    3 c. powdered sugar

mix it all together and mmmmmmmm. if you want it thinner, just add some milk or water, but i use the exact recipe above and it is perfect for my liking.
