How far back can I file state taxes (Louisiana)?

I've NEVER filed state income taxes for Louisiana and have lived here all my life. How can I figure out if I've ever filed? How can I file for back years?

You can get forms for the missing years from the Louisiana Department of Revenue http://revenue.louisiana.gov/default.aspx If you overpaid, you can only get a refund for 2009, 2008, and 2007 right now (You can get a refund for 2006 only if you file the return by April 15, 2010.) If you owe money for any years you haven't file, you will have to pay interest and penalties which will add up to 50% of the taxes to your total bill.

My advice is for you to find a tax professional in your area.

    I hope this helps.
