Want to be in the Air Force?
Okay, so for about a year now, I've been looking into the Air Force. I am 15 and a freshman at a Catholic School. I have a 3.9 GPA(Unweighted) and I am taking 3 honors classes. I run a mile in 5:45, can do 50 Sit-ups in a minute and 35 Push-ups in a minute. I can do 5 pull-ups and have been training intensely. What can I do to increase my chances of getting into the Air Force Academy? (Physically and Academically)

Academically your beyond good. Keep your GPA above a 3.5 and you'll be fine. As far as physically goes, you mile run is lightning and you should have no problem with running a mile and a half in under 10 min 30 sec which i believe is the standard. Your sit ups are good. How many pull ups you can do will not really come into play unless you intend on going into Special Operations, or Security Forces Phoenix Raven program. Your push ups are good, but you need to be able to do 55 push ups in two minutes. My advice to you would be to keep in shape, because they shape mentally and physically your in now in enough to be accepted as an enlistee in the US Air Force. Good Luck man.
No i did not serve but i really want to. My father and grandfather were both in the Air Force. Its kinda been the holiday dinner table conversations over some drinks for the past 15 years lol. But yeah keep up your grades and fitness and you'll be fine.

I've been retired from the Air Force for nine years now. I spent the final 10 years as an AF Recruiter. I can not recollect that a 6 12 months enlistment alternative was once to be had for every body. There are detailed profession fields so as to require particularly a little of coaching and the AF will attempt to recoop the cash spent on that coaching with you operating for them for a 6 12 months interval or enlistment. With the struggle occurring, the AF would have stepped up their incentive methods to comprise providing 6 year enlistment to extra profession fields and providing extra $ bonuses. With that alternative, the one factor it could provide you is further rank which equates to $. In a file that I have simply learn: Historical information and traits point out 6-12 months enlistees have a larger propensity to reenlist upon of entirety in their preliminary time period of enlistment. That stated, the AF would be utilizing the 6 year enlistment to extra broaden it is already prime retention premiums.
