One thing I've learned is to be good with where I am in life. Could some things be better? Of course, but I'm quite happy with where I am right now. What's the point in being miserable?

Yes but that's not to say that it's not difficult at times. I'm a part-time step mom. Being a step parent is very difficult b/c we aren't the parents - some are - but not all of us are. Even when the kids are not there, they might as well be. I have a great life though. I think it's important to step back and appreciate what you have. Life is real. It's not a movie or a fairy tale.

Weekends with them are tough b/c everything has to be centered around them. I already work full time and everything has to revolve around work. It feels like I don't get a break and I need a break. I've earned it. But this is the life that I chose. It's really not that bad. I think keeping things in proper perspective helps and making changes helps - learning - improving - doing something helps.

Yes, this is the happiest I have ever been. We have our normal ups and downs but for the most part things run smoothly and we get to spend a lot of quality time together. Life just seems more fulfilling now that I have kids.

i hope i'm never completely satisfied with anything. there's always room for improvement.

but for the most part, yeah, i'm very happy with it. i've had way more than my share of good fortune in life, and my family is at the top of my list.

Not exactly. Sometimes I get miserable being home all day and often miss my husband but I know he loves his job so I don't fuss too much.
