Yes, you will be tested after signing. Might also want to consider that on the contract they will ask if you have used in the past 6 months. If you tell the truth they can get you a waiver and ship you. If you lie and Army finds out you will be punished under UCMJ and/or discharged.

I'm not sure about the Army I just joined the Marines a few months back and I'm still in the DEP program waiting to leave for boot, before I went up to MEPS I was tested and passed but I don't smoke or nothin, they told me I would be tested again the day before I ship out for boot, but like he said if your honest they can get a waiver and ship u anyway. And I have friends that have recently joined the army and are I the future soldier program, and none of the get random drug tests, there not gunna do that unless u come in smelling like a giant pot plant, they don't do random drug tests in the Marine DEP program either, but if u wanna serve then quit now, it will be better than waiting get ur body ready for boot man it's gunna be hard. No, we usually don't do drug tests during the Future Soldier Program (although some recruiters might if they think you're a druggie). We give you one at the recruiting station and if it comes up clean we send you to MEPS where they give you a more sensitive one that may still come up positive for THC even though the one the recruiter gave you was clean. If you get in, your next drug test will be at basic unless MEPS randomly gives you another one.

I'm going to tell you from personal experience. I know several people like you who said they would quit a month after shipping. Those people were the ones who got kicked out within their first year of service for pissing hot because they went right back to it. If you want to serve then quit NOW. Don't wait until a month before you ship. For all you know, you might join next week and have a ship date of April.

true true, my recruiter tested me after the, i think second or third time i came in his office which was about 2 months before i shipped for basic. I'd give it enough time to drain out of your system before seeing a recruiter as he/she may test you the first time you speak with him/her. good luck
