Best lens for Canon Digital Rebel XT for shooting in low lighting with no flash?

I have a Canon Rebel XT (also the 350D). I am looking to rent a lens for a trip that is sharp in low lighting with out use of a flash? I am thinking of the Tamron 17-50mm. I am limited because the XT is not a full frame camera. Any suggestions? Anyone used the Tamron 17-50mm with an XT?

Sigma 30mm f/1.4 is a great lens and a good focal length. The Canon 50mm f/1.8 is also a great lens, little long for all around but still very usuable.

a good and occasional priced everyday purpose lens may well be the EF-S 18-200mm. The EF-S 18-55mm might grant a greater good greater powerful image high quality, specifically as a results of it is shorter selection. marvelous high quality for the form of inexpensive lens. in terms of image high quality, the EF-S 17-fifty 5 is unbeatable, yet with a regular fee ticket too. a wonderful and occasional priced everyday purpose lens may well be the EF 28-135mm, yet in view that riot cameras have a a million.6x crop component, you lose each and every of the extensive perspective. it may well be coupled with the kit lens.

I used Tamron 17-50mm for a Christmas in a very low-light restaurant. I'm kinda disappointed. Missed some good moments because of the slow auto-focus. But the good light shoots are extremely SHARP.

For low-light, try another lens like Canon 50 f1.4 or f1.8

The best lens will be the fastest lens (lowest f-stop available), but those are also expensive.

You may have to settle for a fixed (not variable) aperture f2.8
