Yes absolutely. Apple users generally don't know much about computers hence they purchase and pay for machines with inferior specs. Itunes makes computers slow even when not in use because it is spying on your behavior and purposely slowing your computer, read the user agreement. If you are using a non Apple PC, press Ctrl-Alt-Del choose Task Manager, then go to the tab which reads Services and you will see it on and the many resources it is using even when it is off. You can turn it off when you right click on it, when you need it again just do as usual and Itunes will turn on. But if you want your computer to run normal then you have to turn if off in the way that I have outlines. Apple corp has made their software make non apple machines run slow so that PC users are forces to purchase Apple computers.

It only slows mine down if I have a lot of things going at once (which is always). HA! I always change my priority settings and then I don't have any problems. iTunes can slow down your computer because it is a very demanding program (depending on what you're doing), but after changing the priority settings, NO PROB! To change them: >Right click task bar >Start Task Manager >Processes tab >In the "Image Name" field, find and right-click on "iTunes.exe" >Go to "Set Priority >" >Set to "High" >Close Task Manager I set the main program I'm using to High, then I can do just about anything w/o it slowing anything down. Programs don't make a difference if it's a laptop or desktop. What makes the difference is the operating system, amount of RAM (Random Access Memory), and processor speed. My laptop runs faster than my office desktop, and my work laptop runs slower than my desktop. They are all running 7. You can download iTunes and see if it slows down your computer. If it does, try setting the priority. If it stills does, uninstall it. Try again whenever you upgrade to a faster computer. Hope this helps you!!

It should only affect you when it's actually running and that depends on ram and what else you are doing. Running photoshop and other high resource apps while running itunes will hog a lot of resources. But if you don't have it running then all should be good.

no , its shouldnt it just depends how much room you have, if its almost full then it might make it slow. If u dont have many things then it wont make it slow. The less things you have updated on your laptop the better.
Hope i helped!

No, well I don't think so. If it does, I suggest you should increase your memory like I did today! IT REALLY HELPS!!! SO FASSST! And I have iTunes.

actually, these people are wrong! iTunes uses a lot of system power the same way torrent programs do! thats why i use low memory usage programs like winamp.

it wont make ur computer slow, the songs in it will, cuz the songs u download in itunes is just like downloading them from somewhere else, they get stored on ur computer! :)
it all depends on how much RAM u have on ur computer!
- 1 decade ago
it shouldn't
I'd double check on how much memory you have left on your hardrive
If you have a lot of used memory, I'd stay away from downloading anything
