Setting up network problem?

I have 2 desktop computers that are both connected through the same netgear box. i made a network to share files and it works ok. But i want to be able to connect to the network on my laptop and i have no idea how. plz help.

    There is a simple a solution for this, connect your laptop through a wired ethernet cable to the netgear. Make sure all computers are in the same WORKGROUP ~ you have to make sure if you have software firewalls in the computers to allow this ranges to be able to talk to each other or you will have some problems. So you create a range: for example. 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.4.

    The next thing you need to take in account is the shared folders that you are sharing to change the security settings on it, make sure you allow the appropriate security settings on it so that the laptop user account can access the folders.

    If the desktop PC's are Windows XP and the laptop is Windows Vista, or vice versa, it is sometiems very annoying to connect them together because of firewall settings or other issues.
