Can we finally admit that "plate racing" is a joke!?

How many times do we need to watch 15 car pile ups before we get the hint. Its only a matter of time before somebody gets killed. Racers take risk, I get that, I just feel that plate racing is unnecessarily dangerous!

Update:

BTW... Great Job Edwards!

Update 2:

Ref do you listen to drivers that get out... how many times have they said "This isn't racing", "There is nothing I could do", or "I guess we are going to keep racing this way until somebody gets killed!" All of the best drivers have said it!

Update 3:

I'm in the extreme minority. I'd like to see NASCAR tell Daytona and Talladega to drop the banking by 15 degreees (or whatever it would take) so that they could take the plates off.

You, my son, are a joke. I can't even count how many times you've been spamming in the past week bragging about how much of a "joke" plate racing is.

    It's awesome. Why hate it?

No one will ever be killed now that they use the new cars and extra safe equipment.

What, would you rather watch an Auto Club speedway race, where they're all spread out and doing nothing? THAT is BORING.

Any time steps are taken to deliberately slow down a race car it makes me shake my head. I agree that it creates packs that result in big wrecks as well.

Going to a bigger plate has made the racing better because drivers cannot hold it wide open the entire race any longer putting control where it belongs; into the drivers hands. If the plates were removed entirely, it would only put more control into the drivers hands, which in my opinion is not a bad thing.

I'm with you. Plate racing sucks. I don't wan't to watch, but I can't stop myself. Good thing is that unlike many Nascar fans on here, I actually remember what it was like before the plates.

    personally I like plate racing.

I like watching 43 lead changes. I like watching 43 lead changes a lap.

I dont want to watch one person dominate all day.

if there werent' plates i'd be worse. the cars going 200+ would ruin tires and rember what happened to bobby allison. at the 1955 24 hours of Le Mans? (ok bad example) Bobby Allisons crash could have been avoided with a plate,

also the big crashes draws in the younger crowds. and idiots like me

    "oh no, its dangerous!"

..isnt that why they're out there? Plate racing is the only reason i watch NASCAR for the most part.

The answer is no, but the drivers should be told to be more cautious. There are a lot of unnecessary crashes because of people doing stupid things...kyle busch... so I think they could change that.

lets see here, people complain about it being to boring when they said no bump drafting and smaller plates and now your complaining about it being to many wrecks after they changed back to the old plates and said its fine to bump draft now? make up your mind which one you want, if some of the drivers knew how to race in a restrictor plate race then wouldn't be nearly as many wrecks

plus going 180+ mph is going to be risky no matter how safe you are, and the cars are the safest they have ever been

Actually these cars are incredibly safe now, no one has died or even got serious injured since 2001. Plate racing makes more exciting racing and you need special skills to do good at plate tracks. It's fun to watch and one hell of a ride, I'm sure.

No one has died at a plate track since 2001. Even the many incredible flips that have occurred since then, have been non-fatal. These cars are so safe now.

It is not going away. Without the plates the cars go too fast.

damn you are boring, plate racing is badass, and now we have the bigger plates, more speed, less need for bump drafting. and its pretty much impossible to die in these now, michael mcdowell proved that at texas.
