Am I eligible to claim the home buyer credit for a home purchased May 21, 2009?

if it was a chainge in my primary residence that I lived in for the entire 8 years prior to purching a new home on May 21, 2009?

Update:

Judy, no. I am saying I sold my older primary residence and bought a new home that is now my primary residence.

Update 2:

the IRS website has some horribly conflicting info on it.

No. To be eligible for the "move up buyers" credit, you must have closed on the purchase of your new home after November 6, 2009.

Are you saying that the mailing address changed for your former home, but you lived in the same home the whole time? That wouldn't affect your eligibility.
