this is a question for anyone whos done the washington semester at au?

i'm trying to decide which topic to pick, and i've been looking at the internships, so my question is, what do you do at said internships? ( i mean other than what they tell you to do i understand that)

is it a 'get me coffee' type deal or is it mostly more real responsibilities?

ive never done an internship before and i was kind of wondering what goes on

the two topics im most interested in are the 'international law and organizations' one

the "international environment and development" one, and the "journalism" one

if anyone has worked at an internship under one of those categories, what is it like

oh an "au" is American University

It all depends on your mentor. I hope you do not get one of the "get me coffee" or, even worse, the 'take off your blouse" guys.

AU is an excellent university. Investigative journalism, or "forensic" journalism, is great. Otherwise, go for one of the international programs. I'd propose the law and organizations, but that is my preference and not based on data.
