A question about my homeowners association.?
I bought my home in Florida back in Jan of 2008. The title company did a complete search with CondoCerts and the management company and determined that my annual fee was $100 for 2008. I got a late notice on Thursday indicating that I had $22 outstanding. I paid 2009 and 2010 in full so when I called, I was told that the $22 in question where owed from 2008!! I explained the situation to the management company and provided evidence but they say I am still due and that they will place a lien if I don't pay. I know it's just $22 but I can't help but feel extorted. What can I do?

Pay the 22 to protect your credit. Then harass the Title company for providing the wrong information

They can make you life miserable, so go ahead and pay it. Maybe you might consider selling and moving somewhere that doesn't have Nazi homeowners associations.
